Data Science Workshop Series on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus

From Clinic to Analysis: Why Setting Up and Understanding Your Metadata Matters

When

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., March 24, 2023

Interested in Open Science/Data Science? Want to know how to communicate with your data analysis team more clearly and save time with analysis? Want to discuss ways to improve your research variables for data extraction or data analysis? YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Join other like-minded researchers and Data Science Institute's Data Science Fellows as they host a series of engaging workshops dedicated to Data Science – right here at the UA Phoenix Biomedical Campus. All are welcome, the event is hybrid.

We will be discussing how to structure metadata, utilization of public databases and how to look through and make sure it will be interpretable by computer or certain bioinformatic tools. Some may call this process data cleaning/pre-processing. We will also discuss why research teams should think about this prior to data collection.

The last 30 minutes will be spent with a hands-on activity, so bring your data!
