sanja

Sanja obtained bachelor’s degrees in Engineering, Physics and English Literature from Fordham University in New York City. She then received her MS in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona, her thesis topic being the development of a vacuum-ultraviolet Raman spectrometer for the detection of COVID-19 and other pathogens. Now she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Optical Sciences to research aerosol-cloud-meteorology interactions and how optics plays a crucial role in these processes. Since data analysis is a large part of her research, Sanja programs extensively in Python and MATLAB and has taken courses such as Intro to Machine Learning and Data Mining to improve her data science skill set. Other than research, Sanja enjoys playing violin for the University of Arizona Philharmonic Orchestra, writing poetry, and exploring character-driven stories through Dungeons & Dragons and role-playing video games.
