Quarto® is an open-source scientific and technical publishing system built to create dynamic content with Python, R, Julia, and Observable as plain text markdown or Jupyter notebooks. Quarto® allows authors to publish high-quality articles, reports, presentations, websites, blogs, and books in HTML, PDF, MS Word, ePub, and more that may or may not include scientific markdown, including equations, citations, crossrefs, figure panels, callouts, advanced layout, and more.

Learners will become familiar with the anatomy of a Quarto document, will learn to incorporate code, prose, and styling in a single report, and will learn to author reports to multiple formats.

This is a beginner level workshop. No previous introduction to Quarto, programming, or reproducible reporting is necessary.

For those who learn by listening and prefer to skip downloads, workshops on Aug. 26 and Sept. 23 will be lecture-only. If you prefer more hands-on learning, workshops on Sept. 9 and Oct. 7 will feature a similar lecture with additional coding tasks.
