Sudan Pandey
Sudan obtained a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Nepal. He then completed his MS in Structural Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Sudan worked in a consulting firm, conducting wind tunnel testing and performance-based seismic design of high-rise reinforced concrete structures, for a few years before joining the University of Arizona for his PhD. Sudan's academic focus is on Structural Engineering with a minor in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. His research is centered on steel seismic collectors, which are crucial in transferring the inertial force from the floor or roof diaphragms during a seismic event to the vertical components of the seismic force-resisting system. His work involves conducting physical testing of scaled models in the lab and analytical studies using finite element software, all aimed at enhancing our understanding of collector behavior and design practices.
